Arrow Community Enterprises Ltd. (ACE) is a community development company which was formed in 1994 in response to growing unemployment and depopulation in the area. Its primary purpose is to promote the economic and social potential of the Lough Arrow Region. It’s flagship project is the innovative National Field Study Centre in Ballinafad which is the only one of its kind in this country. Arrow Community Enterprises Ltd serves several local communities each with their own Development Organisation, providing business planning, feasibility studies and marketing assistance. A key element of the company is providing business planning

The ACE premises also include the Carrowkeel Tourist Information Office, which offers tourist information for the Lough Arrow Region and Co. Sligo. ACE Ltd recently won the FAS N.W.R. Community Initiative Award for its Tourism Marketing Strategy and the Sligo County Enterprise Board Community Initiative. Arrow Community Enterprises has sponsored the Lough Arrow Research Project which led to three publications, Aspects of Geevagh and Highwood, A Guide to the Carrowkeel/Keshcorran Megalithic Complex and In the Shadow of Carran Hill.
