Bees Nees Early Years Centre

The Bees Nees Early Years Centre was originally a playgroup establsihed in the 1970s, but have been incorporated since 1999 and are operating as an all-day childcare centre since 2002. They still run a playgroup and now manage additional staff to facilitate picking up children from 5 schools at various times, whilst providing continuous quality care.

As with many such organsiations, their aim is to provide quality edu-care and support to children and their families at an affordable cost.

This group are eager to continue developing relationships with other similar type projects on both sides of the Border with whom they may share their knowledge and ideas of the sector. They have already developed such cross border relationships through the assistance of the IFI, Highscope Ireland, NIPPA, and Co-operation Ireland.

The project is currently working at capacity level, and it is not unusual for there to be a waiting list in place to access a space in the centre. Having recently established an out of school service, they have found that demand for this is also increasing with each passing year.

As well as offering affordable childcare, Bees Nees are now also interested in offering training to women, and to enable parents become more economically active within the local community.
